A new Sunday drama series on NTV to be broadcast every Sunday at 10:30PM (JST). starting in October titled "Reibai Tantei Jozuka Hisui" (Medium Detective: Jozuka Hisui)!
This drama tells the story of a heroine who has the ability to "see spirits" and faces difficult cases as a "medium detective" by relying on hints from the dead. Since she has no proof of her psychic vision, she is unable to get anyone to believe her. So what in the world will she use to solve the case? A new mystery drama is born, in which a meticulously constructed story leads to a surprising turn of events.
Kiyohara Kaya, one of the most talented young actresses of recent years who has won numerous awards, as well as the heroine of Continuous TV Series "Okaeri Mone". She plays the role of Jozuka Hisui, a unique heroine who can see the culprit. This is her first leading role in NTV drama. This article presents Kiyohara's enthusiastic comments!
■ What is your impression on the original work?
It was very interesting and I read it in one sitting from beginning to end. There was a lot of foreshadowing which made me goes "Oh, (plot twist) here?" and "Here too?!". I was so excited and kept me on edge the whole time.
The characters are all quirky and interesting, and I feel that it would definitely be fun if it were made into a TV drama, so I'm going to have to work hard on it.
■ How did you find the main character, Jozuka Hisui's charm point?
Hisui, who exists as a medium, is very mysterious and unapproachable at first but on the other hand, she also has a naive and somewhat goofy side that she shows to those close to her and that makes you want to protect her. I am looking forward to seeing how I will portray these feminine qualities.
■ Today may be the first time you have stood in front of the camera in Hisui's costume and makeup, how do you feel about it?
I have never played a role wearing such (girlish) clothes before, so it feels fresh. The makeup is also more solid than I have ever done before, so I'm really excited. The green eyes which characterised Hisui are created with coloured contacts, so I wasn't sure if they would look good on me but after wearing them today, I feel like I'm gradually getting used to them.

■ Jozuka Hisui has the "power of a medium who can see spirits." Have you ever had any mysterious power or had any mysterious experiences?
I always have the power to clear up the weather when it is the right time. The other day we had to shoot a sunrise scene that absolutely had to be sunny and it was sunny for two days in a row!
