Prologue

The ancient weeping cherry tree is battered by the warm spring rain.

I was estranged as 'ugly demon's daughter' because of my hair which was getting redder and redder every year and even my father turned his back on me.

It was dawn, I was crying because it was terribly painful until my sleeves were wet.

It was a sweet and nostalgic scent.

As I dragged my long hair and kouchigi[1], I stepped out from the bamboo blind to the outer corridor.

I was mesmerised by the light crimson blossoms of the weeping cherry tree, flowing and scattering in the gray sky of the cursed city.

It was just like my hair colour...

Suddenly, I felt like someone was staring at me.

There was a young man staring at me through a gap in the branches which flowed like a waterfall.

—A demon.

The jet-black hair and eyes which I had always admired.

However, he was not a human. He was a demon with horns, which threatens Heian-kyo[2] with his symbolic and deceitful horns. And, he was a disturbingly beautiful young man.

"I'll take you out of here."

Then he reached out his hand and called my name.

My name.

My name is.....

[1] Kouchigi is outerwear worn especially by high class noblewomen in Heian period (794-1185).
[2] Heian-kyo is a former name of Kyoto. It was Japan's capital city until 1868.

Hello. This is my first time translating a light novel. I hope you'll enjoy it. This is a spin-off light novel of Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi.
